Reverse Chord Lookup

Ever played a beautiful chord but didn't know what to call it? This tool solves that problem. By visualizing the intervals between the notes you select, we can determine the chord name, extension, and quality (Major, Minor, Diminished, etc.).

How it Works

  • Interval Analysis: We calculate the distance between every note.
  • Root Detection: We attempt to find the most likely root note based on acoustic consonance.
  • Slash Chords: If the lowest note isn't the root, we identify it as an inversion (e.g., C/G).
